Termite Damage Often Starts Out of Sight
Termites live and work in places homeowners rarely see. Subterranean colonies travel through the soil and construct protected mud tubes to reach wood, while other species can live directly inside wooden materials. By the time visible damage appears, termites may have been active for an extended period.
Happy Earth begins with a careful inspection of the structure, foundation and surrounding property. We look for active termites, mud tubes, damaged wood, moisture and other conditions that could place your home at risk. We then recommend a termite treatment plan based on what we find.

Termites Found in Texas
Eastern Subterranean Termites
Eastern subterranean termites are the most commonly encountered termites in Texas. Their colonies live underground and reach structures through soil, foundation cracks, wood-to-ground contact and protective mud tubes.
Formosan Subterranean Termites
Formosan termites are an invasive subterranean species capable of developing particularly large colonies. They are more established in coastal areas but have continued expanding into additional parts of Texas.
Drywood Termites
Drywood termites live directly inside dry wooden materials without maintaining contact with the soil. They are more common in southern and coastal Texas but may also be introduced through infested furniture, lumber or other wooden items.
Termite Swarmers
Swarmers are winged reproductive termites that leave established colonies to form new ones. Finding swarmers or piles of matching discarded wings indoors can be an important warning sign of nearby termite activity.
HOW IT WORKS
A Smarter Approach
To Termite Control

1
Inspect
We examine accessible areas of the structure and surrounding property for termites, mud tubes, wood damage, moisture and other risk factors.

2
Treat
We recommend and apply a termite treatment based on the type of termite, location of activity and construction of the property.

3
Protect
We identify conditions that may increase termite risk and recommend practical steps to support long-term protection.
Signs You May Have a Termite Problem
Why are Termites so difficult to control?
Most termite activity takes place underground or inside wood, making it difficult to determine the size and location of a colony from visible evidence alone. Removing damaged wood or treating one visible area may not address termites traveling through the soil or hidden portions of the structure.
Professional termite control begins with correctly identifying the termite and understanding how it is reaching the property. Happy Earth uses the inspection findings to develop a more complete treatment strategy and identify conditions that could contribute to future activity.
